Slow Cooker Dhall – red lentil

This is great as a side, but even better made in batches and stored in the freezer to act as a base for other ingredients – ideas at the end of the recipe. It’s very economical and comforting food.

2 small or 1 large onion – chopped quite finely

3 cloves of garlic also chopped finely

2-3 tbsp of bought curry paste – I like Massalman, but use whatever you like or happen to have

2 tins of chopped tomatoes

squeeze of tomato puree

half a bag (about 250g) red lentils

Put everything into slow cooker and mix together – cook on low for 6-8 hours

Things to make with your defrosted dhall

– Potato and Cauliflower Curry

– Easy chicken curry
